Deliveroo recently rolled out a new rider/restaurant engagement programme, Rider Bistro where riders are invited to work in our selected restaurant partners for a lunchtime shift, exposing them and giving them an understanding of the challenges and experienced faced by both parties.
Why do we do this?
We are hoping to open up communication between both our restaurant partners and riders, cultivating stronger working relationships and improving the entire delivery experience for restaurant partners, riders and customers.
How are we doing this?
We did our first trial with our partner Guzman y Gomez in December 2018, and will roll out on a wider scale across this year, following positive restaurant and rider feedback. Other restaurant partners that will be participating are Wolf Burger, Soup Restaurant, Peperoni Pizzeria and Blu Kouzina.
Deliveroo will invite up to 50 NEA-certified riders as restaurant support on a first-come-first-served basis. Riders will be able to learn about bagging, tagging, food preparation, as well as cashiering to better help them understand the areas in the delivery process.
Deliveroo would also assess the impact of the programme through feedback from both the participating riders and restaurant partners.
Through this initiative, we believe that this would bridge the gap between our riders and restaurant partners. If you are interested in participating in this, do reach out to us!
