We're making the Impossible possible by partnering with Impossible Foods, the Silicon Valley food tech pioneer behind the plant-based Impossible™ Burger. The rise of plant-based eating is huge and in 2018 we saw an 83% increase in the number of restaurants tagged as 'vegetarian' or 'vegan', generating 10% of all orders.
The Impossible Burger is made primarily of soy protein, potato protein, coconut oil, and sunflower oil with heme, one molecule discovered by Impossible Foods' scientists, which is uniquely responsible for the explosion of flavours that result when meat is cooked. While it delivers all of the craveable depth of beef and is made for meat lovers, the Impossible Burger has much less environmental impact than conventional ground beef from cows – 87% less water, 96% less land, 89% fewer GHG emissions, and 92% less aquatic pollutants. Singaporeans have embraced Impossible Foods since its March 2019 launch, with early partner restaurants seeing a 15% increase in foot traffic since introducing Impossible™ on their menus.
In response to the growing demand from Singapore's top chefs, industry experts and consumers, Impossible Foods is fast growing its footprint in restaurants island-wide. Since its launch in March, Impossible Foods is now available in over 50 outlets, incorporated in a diverse array of cuisines, price points and venues. With this partnership, Impossible Foods will be able to tap into Deliveroo's extensive network of consumers, and expand their reach to even more consumers currently being served in restaurants.
