To help you do that, we caught up with the good folks at Muchachos have let us in on a little secret on how they make the sauce that goes with just about everything on their menu.
The three ingredients that make the recipe really stand out are the jalapeños, tomatillos, and cilantro. Without these, that signature mexican kick will be more like a soft nudge. Depending on how spicy you want it, you may use more or less jalapeños in the mix!
- 280gm fresh tomatillo
- 50gm fresh jalapeño
- 30gm white onion
- 15gm cilantro
- 1 ripe avocado
- 20 lime juice
- 10gm salt
- 10gm sugar
- Olive oil
- Slowly saute the tomatillos, the onions, and the jalapeños in a preheated frying pan with some olive oil until the tomatillos are slightly browned
- Place the cooked tomatillos, onions, and jalapeños with the cilantro, lime juice, and sugar in a blender or food processor and pulse
- Season to taste with salt
