Chocs Away For A Quick Guide To Some Of The Best Chocolate In Singapore!

Get ready for take off. We're about to take you on a whistle-stop tour of some of the most deliciously indulgent ways that you can get your chocolate fix in Singapore – from cakes to yoghurts, these desserts are guaranteed to fill the chocolate-shaped hole in your day. These sweet treats range from the seriously rich to the ridiculously fun and, if you love chocolate quite as much as we do, you're sure to agree they're all winners. So strap yourself in, hold on tight and let us transport you to a world where a craving for a chocolate pudding can be satisfied with a click.

1. Dark Chocolate Gelato - Gecory

Let's start at the most serious end of the scale. This one's for the hard-core chocoholics. Gecory's take on Dark Chocolate Gelato might be too intense for some, with its 75% cocoa solids. So the first taste is bitter but the underlying sweetness soon comes through with a distinctly mellow finish. Gelato relies on milk more than ice cream does and uses no egg at all – the result of which is an intensified powerful flavour.

2. Chocolate Rainbow Cake - Nom Bistro and Bakery

At the other end of the scale, the Chocolate Rainbow Cake from Nom Bistro and Bakery is for people who like to have a little bit of fun with their food. When you tuck into a piece, spare a thought for all the hard work that has gone into making the multi-coloured layers of light sponge, not to mention putting them together with buttercream icing. It's also all covered in a lovely, smooth chocolate ganache.

3. Original Whole Cake - Chocolate Origin

If you have lots more like-minded chocolate lovers coming round for tea then this mini masterpiece from Chocolate Origin could be perfect. It's their signature truffle cake and they use 55% Belgian chocolate to create a lighter, sweeter flavour. Of course, if you want to go a little more hard-core they also offer their darker version made with the 73% chocolate instead.

4. Chocolate Chip Yogurt - Yami Yogurt

It's quite unusual to find a yoghurt that also offers a chocolate kick. But Yami Yogurt believe in pushing the boundaries and that's why they offer so many different toppings for you to add to their frozen variety. Purists will probably go for the dark chocolate chips but they even offer crumbled Oreo biscuits too. If you want to turn it into a truly savoury experience then add some crushed peanuts into the mix as well.

5. Dark Chocolate Banana Cheesecake - PS Café

There's a whole lot going on in PS Café's Dark Chocolate Banana Cheesecake, starting with the crunchy biscuit base. Then there's the sweet, banana-flavoured cheesecake element all topped off with a deep layer of chocolate ganache. The result is a tantalising combination of flavours, in turn sweet and bitter. It's a balance that we think they've got just right!
