Discover the best of Singapore's Chinese cuisine

You don't have to go far to find great food in Singapore and, thanks to the hugely multi-cultural nature of this city state, that includes cuisines from all over the world. But, for those days when you want to return to an old favourite, you're also ideally placed for Chinese food. We've rounded up a selection of the tastiest dishes from some of the best Chinese restaurants in Singapore.

1. Peach Garden at Hotel Miramar

The Peach Garden at Hotel Miramar has a great selection of Chinese food that can be brought straight to your door. Alongside the usual favourites, you'll find no less than seven different soups - our pick is the Double Boiled Baby Abalone Soup with Chicken and Chinese Herbs. Or maybe you'll follow one of the Chef's recommendations and order the Roasted Crispy Duck with Black Truffle sauce.

2. Tung Lok Signatures

At Tung Lok Signatures, try one of the classic dishes such as Sze Chuan-style Claypot Diced Chicken with Dried Chilli or Boiled Chinese Cabbage, Minced Pork and Dried Shrimp. Alternatively, if you're in the mood for seafood, maybe you'll be tempted to try one of the seafood specialities such as Sautéed Scallop topped with Crab meat and roe, or deep-fried Prawns with wasabi-mayo sauce.

3. Honguo

A great place for shoppers to rest their weary legs, Honguo at the Raffles City Shopping Centre now also accepts orders through Deliveroo. From its menu, you can enjoy delicious appetisers such as Century Eggs and Shanghai Pork dumplings, followed by dishes like Black Pepper Beef fried noodle and Lotus sausage and chicken fried rice.

4. Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao

If it's dim sum you're after, check out the menu at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao in Holland Village. Our favourite dish is 501 Braised Dong Po Pork Belly served with Lotus bun; the pork is sticky and sweet, which makes it an extremely more-ish dish. And if you want something hot and spicy, try 604 Poached Sliced Fish in Szechuan Spicy Soup. Don't forget dessert - delicious black sesame glutinous rice dumplingin ginger soup or pan-fried red bean pancake will round off your meal nicely.

5. Chye Lye Restaurant

It may not be a dish you'd choose unless you knew how good it tastes. But for any fans of curried fish head soup, then Chye Lye Restaurant is the place to order it from! Their most popular dish is the Assam Curry Fish Head. However, if you're not keen on the idea of fish head soup, they also have plenty of classic Chinese dishes to choose from like Fried Pork Ribs and Kung Pao Chicken.

For any tea-lovers, trying Chye Lye's tea-based specialities is a must. Our recommendation is the Black Sesame Glutinous Rice Dumpling in Oolong tea.

Whether you're after traditional Chinese dishes such as congee, or you're looking for regional specialities that you haven't yet tried, there's so much choice in Singapore. It's quite possible that you could eat Chinese food every day and never need to visit the same place twice!
