Turn the Heat Up with Spicy Noodles from Singapore Town

Got a stubborn cold you need to shake? Taste buds bored of the same old stuff? No problem! We've drawn up a list of some of the spiciest noodles in town to get your engine revving. This is Asian cuisine to the max, with inspiration from all across the East. We've got veggies, we've got seafood, we've got pork and we've got pickles. But most importantly, we've got noodles and we've got 'em spicy, so kick things up a notch and warm your heart. There's a bit of everything here, from Thai style vermicelli to dry pork noodles roasted with flavour. It may burn but boy does it taste good.

1. Thai Style Vermicelli from Siam Society

Go big or go home! With both regular and large portion sizes available, the Thai Style Vermicelli noodles from Siam Society restaurant are enough to sate even the hungriest of appetites. Long, thin threads of noodle loop around veg for a stir fry experience not to be forgotten. If you're starving for a good bite to eat, if you need filling as well as tasty, order up and prepare your belly to be satisfied. Plain old rice just can't compare.

2. Champong Spicy Seafood Noodle by Hansang Korean Restaurant

Keep your water handy – the temperature is rising and won't be slowing down any time soon around here. For a spicy dish with a saltier twist, the Champong Spicy Seafood Noodle from Hansang Korean Restaurant certainly packs a punch. There are all kinds of flavours and textures going on here, not least the heat. Soft noodle, ocean fragrance, delicate prawn. Your whole tongue is involved in every bite and as the spice fades it only serves to accentuate the pre-existing flavours. Scrumptious.

3. Spicy Pork Dry Noodle at Hong Kong Wonton Noodle – ION

Not in the mood for a broth or soup? Perfectly acceptable. Grab your chopsticks, there's no need for a spoon here because we've got dry noodles too, this time with spiced pork and chilli for extra substance. Diced meat compliments the base in what's ultimately a simple, yet delicious dish. Nothing extravagant, nothing rich, just good food made well by the kitchen hands at Hong Kong Wonton Noodle.

4. Garoupa with Pickled Vegetable Noodle from Lenu Noodle Bar

This dish is centred around garoupa, or grouper as you may know it. The fish is steamed and gently laid upon a bed of choice noodles with pickled veg besides. This plate up from Lenu Noodle Bar is fresh, varied and full of great taste. Spicy but not too spicy, with the option to upsize if you've really got a hunger on. It's the last on our list but certainly not the least and definitely a dish to consider if you find yourself craving while out on the town.
