If you're fanatical about your food but you prefer eating at halal restaurants, it can be difficult to find out whether or not a particular restaurant in Singapore ticks the right boxes.
We love our food just as much as you and if there's a good halal restaurant in Singapore we've definitely heard about it! So, you can be sure that the seven following halal haunts we've listed combine convenience, value and flavour all in one perfect package.
Singapore is one of the most multicultural parts of the world and it shows when people sit down to dinner, with Asian and Western cuisines coming together in one unique city!
1. IndoChili, Tanjong Pagar
IndoChili is an award-winning Indonesian restaurant on Zion Road and is halal-certified by MUIS. Not only does It offer authentic Indonesian cuisine and was nominated as the Top halal Restaurant in Singapore by The Halal Food Blog, it's extremely family-friendly, making it suitable for any special occasion. Their Nasi Tumpeng is particularly impressive for a party, providing a taste of Javanese royalty for one night only!
2. Bali Thai, Suntec City
With nine different restaurants across Singapore alone, Bali Thai is definitely one of the most popular fast-food chains in the city, providing fresh Thai and Indonesian cuisine at great prices. As a halal-friendly chain, Bali Thai also offers special set menus for festivities such as Ramadan and Chinese New Year, all at affordable prices.
3. Kraftwich by Swissbake, The Central
My ultimate guilty pleasure is to pig out on something nice instead of just going to the coffeeshop again. Meet my new favorite #lunchtime indulgence from @kraftwichsg! You got to try their new Thai Green Curry sandwich originally created by Masterchef Finalist Lennard Yeong. It comes with a special dip for an added oomph too.
Located in the heart of the city, Kraftwich by Swissbake is the perfect halal-friendly place to visit if you're craving a hearty sandwich. With a unique shape and style of bread, these sandwiches certainly pack a punch, with various exciting fillings from a Japanese-style Portobello sandwich to a roasted vegetable sandwich on a layer of tangy sriracha aioli – bliss!
4. Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut, Orchard Road
There are a number of eateries along Orchard Road and in Lucky Plaza Shopping Centre in particular, but Bebek Goreng is somewhat different. It specialises in Halal-friendly fried duck, as opposed to fried chicken, complete with a raft of different sambals and Indonesian-style soups to boot. Our hot tip? Get a load of the Kulit Bebek Goreng (or the fried duck skin) – it'll be the tastiest skin you'll have ever had!
5. SO PHO, Orchard Road
No-one else in Singapore quite manages to capture the authentic flavours of Vietnamese cuisine better than So Pho. Halal-certified and with a remit to use only the freshest ingredients, this place offers the very best Pho, Banh Mi and Summer or Spring rolls you'll find in the city. It's another great choice to order from, given their wide array of party platters and Bento sets that can be ordered en-masse.
6. JINJJA Chicken, Bugis
Halal-friendly fast food has never tasted so good. JINJJA Chicken is Korean-style fast food that succeeds in going beyond fried chicken and fries. With a strong influence on the South Korean street food culture, JINJJA replicates recipes from all over the nation, ranging from super-juicy chicken wings to Jjamppong and Jjajang Myeon noodle bowls.
